Partnership Opportunities

The South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) will offer your organisation the opportunity to enhance its position as a valuable partner to an industry that is the lifeline of many Pacific Islanders. The enhancement of such a partnership can be made possible through partnering with us.

Work with us

The South Pacific Tourism Exchange is SPTO’s premier trade event involving its member countries, industry members and international partners.

The concept of the South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) was born due to the need to offer a one-stop shop to valued international travel partners to meet our regional tourism products and suppliers from the islands. It offers the convenience of meeting all Pacific island destinations and a cost-effective platform for our Pacific Island partners to travel from all corners of the Pacific to the location to exchange their exciting products with buyers from all across the globe.

After a 4 year hiatus, SPTO will be organising the South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) that is directed towards providing a platform for sellers from the region to directly promote their services to a selected group of international buyers all under one roof.

SPTE 2023 will be held at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand in Christchurch from the 12th – 13th of May 2023. The event is scheduled after the Australian Tourism Exchange (30th April – 4th May, Gold Coast) and before Tourism Rendezvous New Zealand (9th May – 11th May, Christchurch) to attract as many international buyers who would also be attending those events.

The last SPTE that was held in Auckland, New Zealand in 2019 had more than 200 participants comprising of international wholesalers, travel agencies and online travel agencies, national tourism organisations, destination and product market representatives, inbound tour operators, regional airlines, hotel operators, and tour and excursion operators. SPTE 2019 included sellers from across the Pacific while the buyers were from Australia, New Zealand, USA, India, China, France, Italy, Russia, Netherlands and Spain. We are expecting bigger numbers in 2023 as there is an exceeding demand for international travel, in particular for the Pacific nations after prolonged periods of international border closures and travel restrictions due to COVID-19.

With SPTE 2023 expected to be bigger than previous events, we are delighted to cordially invite you to be a major sponsor. Through your partnership, your organisation will reach a unique audience of key tourism stakeholders from across the world.
Some of the many benefits of sponsoring this event include the following:

  • Promoting your organisation to attendees from various parts of the world
  • Boost and reinforce your branding
  • Boosted credibility among industry peers
  • Build your network and generate leads

To have a stronger presence in the tourism sector across the region, the South Pacific Tourism Exchange provides the perfect platform in which you could further strengthen communication and relationships across our Pacific Island membership.
